"From an early age, I have had a growing interest in the way in which the arts transmit meanings, fueled by my passion for photography and creative writing which have eventually moulded themselves into a substantial part of my life. This has allowed me to engage in similar undertakings, ranging from filmmaking to exploring the world of graphic design, including experimenting with photo manipulation and font creation, in an attempt to set myself upon the path of becoming a freelance photographer.
I would describe myself as a determined worker, an avid reader and with a great sense of appreciation for both foreign and independent film, with what I hope is a fresh and creative mind. I also possess the desire to push myself further, expanding my skills beyond their current constraints, which has driven me to participate in activities such as photography contests. This combined with my enjoyment in collaborating with others and my aspiration to eventually become a published author, has lead to my participation in the production of a online magazine and the recent joining of the team of representatives for my current school’s magazine in which I will endeavour to reflect upon various debates, share my passions, and discuss both recent and historical happenings.
In the past I have enjoyed both running and designing blogs; an ideal medium for expressing myself, taking a multimodal approach. In addition, because of my great interest in technology and helping others, I also undertake the role of a ‘digital leader’ within my school, taking on tasks such as the mentoring of both staff and fellow students about computing.
As my horizons begin to broaden, I begin to conceive more ideas that I could take part in, an example being becoming a member of a student union in the hopes of putting across opinions on behalf of both myself and my fellow students; or the wish to start an online shop in the near future, the profits of which would entirely go to charity. I am currently still planning the latter, a task which I believe I will effectively be able to accomplish due to the large amount of effort I put into all my work, and my bilingualism which will to be in touch with a wider range of customers, while this experience actively helps me develop my organisation skills and reaching out to those in need."
